Ethical Dilemma
From your point of view how has technology affected the "ethical" behavior in the industry where you plan to work or pursue your career upon graduation?
With the new computer software advancements, our society now has access to computer software like the Adobe Photoshop and the Adobe Illustrator that allow its users to digitally alter a photograph among many other things. While these softwares are amazingly useful and fun for the creative to let their imaginations go wild, people in our society have taken their creative skills to the extreme.
These softwares have made it possible for anyone, including someone like me with my few computer skills, to digitally alter a photograph to the point where the truth of the photography becomes unrecognizable. Around the world people use these softwares unethically and change photographs to change the truth. With the altering of the photos, anyone could change them to fit a story, or to make someone appear slimmer if necessary. An example of this was when a photo of news anchor Katie Couric was altered to make her appear miraculously slimmer.
