   Hello my name is Katie Lafont. I am a well rounded student who has an ambition to secure myself in the business industry, thus by earning a degree in marketing at Kennesaw State University.  In hopes, with my major I will take my knowledge to the dental field.  I am currently a periodontal assistant and work during the day and attend classes at night.  This is a heavy load that I do day to day, but I love challenges it IS what drives me to better myself.  I have been a periodontal assistant for 11 months and enjoy working with people all day, it makes my day to help others.  As for school and earning my degree this process will take anywhere from two to three years depending on how fast I want to accomplish my goals towards earning    my degree in marketing.                                                                                                                                              

     In my spare time I love to be outside as much as possible.  I absolutely love nature.  For a hobby I scuba dive.  My favorite spot is in the Grande Caymans.  I wreck dive, night dive, and regularly dive as much as possible.  I use to play softball, gymnastics, and dance up until three years ago when I turned my focus on school.  I still play softball for my church on the weekends for fun and I am always dancing. Dancing in the shower, while i am cooking, and in life.  I am a great friend and am always down for a good time with friends and family.

    I have had three jobs so far, in which I feel all have broadened my horizons as a future employee.  My first job I was sixteen and worked in a pizza place answering the phone and taking orders. This opened my up to customer service, which entails to me a great ear and an understanding and welcoming smile.  My second job I worked as a server for Applebees.  I picked up many skills and talents for myself through this job.  I had to learn to be a good listener as well as patience even when the customer was upset.  My third and current job is, as I recently stated, a periodontal assistant.  I have learned many talents to help me with my major. I know a lot about dental products and how they work because I use them on a daily basis. 

    All in all these jobs and my personality make a great team player.  In these three jobs I have worked all with people.  This makes me a trustworthy person and a fast worker as well as many skills following.  I have found that projects and deadlines drive me towards excellence.  I am not in any bit lazy nor am I am slave driver on people just myself, at times.  I have been known to always be early and if i do not know something then I will do my best to find out.  My mission statement is me one hundred percent.  I have values and I firmly believe that values do set a standard towards an excellent organization.
