BIOGRAPHY

I am a 30 year old wife and mother of a four year old daughter.  I have been married for twelve years this March and married my high school sweetheart.  I feel that this is one of my major accomplishments because many couples who marry young often find themselves divorced within the first ten years.  Our beautiful daughter is another accomplishment that I am very proud of.  She helps me see the world in a whole new way.  She seems to see amazing things in the most simplest of things.  It is because of her that I decided to go back to get my degree because I wanted her to see how important a college education was.  My only regret is that I do miss some of her activities because of my class schedule, but she always seems to understand.

My goals in life have changed slightly since the birth of our daughter.  My goals are now based upon the success of my family.  First and most importantly I want to be the kind of role model that can teach our daughter right from wrong and show her what is truly important in life.  I no longer measure success in the amount of material things I own, but in the strength of our family.  A second goal that I have is actually a goal that is shared by husband also.  We both want to maintain a loving and success family, which can be quite difficult given the obstacles in life today.  Lastly I want to be able to finish every day knowing that I gave my all in everything that I accomplished during that day.

SKILLS

I am employed by Bartow County Bank, which is a locally owned hometown bank in Cartersville and this June will be my twelve year anniversary.  My title there is administrative lender assistant.  In this position I am responsible for gathering all information necessary for consumer, commercial and real estate loan closings and getting this information to the processing department to prepare the closing packages.  While in my position I have acquired organization skills, communication skills, time management skills and some Word and Excel skills.  I will be the first to admit that I have not spent a lot of time working in Word or Excel, but I have always taken pride in the fact that I pick up new things very quickly and work hard to complete any task assigned to me.

I look forward to this class because I do need to learn more about Word and Excel.  I feel that adding the information that I learn from this class to my list of skills can help me in my professional and student careers.  I’ve always been told that you can never learn too much information and that the more diversified you are the more valuable you are to your employer.
