Interstate 185/Georgia State Route 411
Back to Georgia Highway Ends

Originally a by-pass on the east side of Augusta, SR 185 was born when that by-pass was extended 40 miles to the north to meet I-85.  When completed in the late 1970's, Columbus and Atlanta were finally joined by an interstate.  I-185, also designated as SR 411, a secret reference number, is a route prime for a new interstate corridor.  In fact, improvements along US 27 tie into the road directly including a proposed extension north of LaGrange.  This extension will extend off of the northern end where the interchange is designed for future extension.
