Georgia State Route 67
Back to Georgia Highway Ends

Significantly shorter than it was in the 1960's, SR 67 has a rather noticeable southern end as shown below.  In addition to joining US 25 along its northern portion, SR 67 also has one decommissioned banner route in Pembroke.

Southern Terminus: Dead End at Fort Stewart southeast of Pembroke

In Pembroke, they give you advance warning of the route's termination.  Except for military purposes, why do they really need a state route that doesn't go anywhere?

Note the tire tracks still visible proving that though it is closed to the public, the road is still in use, though not regularly.  The slightly deteriorated blue sign in the background notifies the public that this is Fort Stewart and not public land.

Though closed off to the public for decades, SR 67 once continued south along this road joining and continuing along SR 144 to the south.  The road was never paved.

Northern Terminus: SR 21 east of Millen (route is Old SR 21)

GA 67 originally ended south of Millen.  When GA 21 was relocated to a new by-pass north of Millen, GA 67 was then extended along Old GA 21 to where Old GA 21 meets the by-pass east of Millen.

Same view of GA 67 end with angle showing part of Old GA 21 continuing straight ahead in the background.  Note the orange barrels where GA 21 is being widened along the Millen to Sylvania stretch.
