Georgia State Route 520
Back to Georgia Highway Ends

In 1988, Corridor Z became GA 520 and later the "South Georgia Parkway".  GA 520 cuts across South Georgia from Phoenix City, AL to Jekyll Island passing through Columbus, Albany, Tifton and Waycross.  The route also passes to the south of Brunswick.  Most of GA 520 was originally GA 50, which was truncated to Dawson that same year. GA 520 is multiplexed with US 27 between Columbus and Cusseta, US 280 between Columbus and Richland, US 82 between Dawson and Brunswick and US 17 near Brunswick.  The only portions not multiplexed with other routes are between Richland and Dawson and the Jekyll Island spur, extending east of US 17/80 south of Brunswick.  The GA 520 marker has a green legend on a white background instead of the usual black on white.
