Georgia State Route 349 (Historical Route)
Back to Georgia Highway Ends

Replaced in August 1986 with a much better route, SR 349 effectively bit the dust as a state route between Rossville and Flintstone.  With the new route far superior to narrow and winding Happy Valley Road, following and crossing it part ways, it had to go.  There is quite a bit left on this road, however, from when the state controlled the road except for no route markers. Read more about it out here.

Western Terminus: Chattanooga Valley Road (Old SR 193) in Flintstone

(no photo available)

Eastern Terminus: McFarland Avenue (Old SR 2) in Rossville

This is looking south on McFarland Avenue with James Street, which is the Rossville portion of Old SR 349, to the right.  James Street becomes Happy Valley Road after a short distance.  This LGS is the only sign left over from the route.
