As the first known decommissioned route in 2003,
these highway ends were taken on March 12, 2003. By fall, the route
was gone. To read more about GA 346, click here.
Western
Terminus: US 129/GA 11 in Talmo
First reassurance marker looking east from US 129. There is nothing
here now but a speed limit sign on a green-painted u-channel post.
There was no "END" signage present, but there was this sign error which
will unfortunately be permanent now.
Looking north on US 129. I do not have a shot of the markers up close,
but I did manage to get this "JCT 346" shot here on the right. The
bridge ahead is dated 1940 and will be replaced when US 129 is widened to
four lanes in the area within the next couple of years.
Eastern
Terminus: GA 82 west of Maysville
Eastern "END" signage where GA 346 met GA 82. The post is still there,
but now just has GA 82 and the double-arrow below it on it.
The speed limit sign in the pic has since been moved back on a green-painted
u-channel post. Goodbye to GA 346. Thanks for a Kodak moment. If you would like to submit a photo, feel free to
