Georgia State Route 292

A unique route running along the railroad tracks its entire length from Claxton to west of Vidalia, SR 292 cuts off a lot of miles and congestion along busy US 280.  From Lyons westward, the route runs within sight of US 280 with both routes running across the railroad tracks from each other.  For more information about SR 292, click here.

In this hopelessly grainy and not too nice photo, the sign in the photo ahead reads "County Maintained" in the old style black on white.  



Blame it on the matte finish that I didn't ask for that makes these pics so grainy.  Here is the first reassurance marker on GA 292 eastbound. Note the old-style signage.

The signage here is very new due to the recent completion of the new four-lane here.
