Georgia State Route 247
Back to Georgia Highway Ends
Banner Routes: GA 247 Spur, GA 247 Connector

SR 247 was built as a new route from Macon to Hawkinsville predating the interstates.  US 129 was relocated to the route later.  For more on SR 247 and its banner routes, click here.

Southern Terminus: US 341/SR 11 northwest of Hawkinsville

This intersection was reconfigured in 2002 or 2003 when US 341 was four-laned in the area, so the "END" is contractor installed and brand new.  Photo by J.T. Legg taken June 2003.

Northern Terminus: US 23/SR 87 in Macon.  I-75 also may be considered an ending as it is signed as an off-ramp.

Many intersections of highways in Georgia end at these oddly configured Y-intersections.  Note the banner plaque that is used only in certain parts of Georgia.  Photo by J.T. Legg in June 2003.
