Banner Route: GA 242 Spur

SR 242 is a highway connecting Wadley to Sandersville in Washington and Jefferson Counties.  When SR 88 was relocated in the 1990's, SR 242 was extended along SR 24 west of Sandersville to end at the relocated SR 88.  With SR 242 Spur and SR 242 ending at almost the same intersection, the ends of the Spur and the mainline route seem to overlap.

The existance of SR 242 Spur is pretty strange.  The road appears to be a GDOT-built road with SR 242 extended west partly to justify the strange route.  The road is known as Industrial Drive, reasoning that the road is meant to be Washington County's industrial road.
