Decommissioned Banner Route: GA 220 Spur

SR 220 is a lengthy loop route entirely in Lincoln County crossing parts of Clarks Hill Lake (Strom Thurmond Lake).  It is situated south and east of Lincolnton and made up of at least four former county roads.  Its lone banner route, SR 220 Spur, was decommissioned in 1997.

SR 220 Spur was decommissioned in 1997.  The route begins in the Kenna community and continues eastward to a road that turns off leading to a local Boy Scout camp.  The route continues beyond the scout camp road, but it was not part of SR 220 Spur.  A short distance down, the road turns dirt.  To compensate for the loss of the highway, GDOT has installed trail blazers to the camp along two county roads, one which has a LGS directing traffic to Augusta along the county road.
