  1. Trojan Horses – This program could be used to find some information such as a password or it could destroy your computer.  It is similar to a virus, except it doesn’t replicate itself.  It could destroy most things on you hard disk.

  1. Virus – A program that attaches itself to other programs and destroys most programs by replicating itself.  This is done without your knowledge and consent.

  1. White Hats – it is basically a hacker who informs the owner the weaknesses of the computers before the other hacker exposes the bug to the computer.  It’s kind of like a “good guy” of the computers.

  1. Worm – A program that replicates itself destroying the memory and using up the computer’s resources and eventually, it will shut the computer down.

  1. Zombies – When your computer is taken over control by another person and he can control how to destroy or slow down any programs he wishes.

  1. ISP (Internet Service Provider) – When a company allows you to have internet connection and web services to individuals and businesses.  An example is Bellsouth FastAccess or American Online (AOL).

  1. Web Browser – Another work for it is software application.  It allows you to search the web for a particular site.  Two that are very famous are Internet Explore and Netscape.

  1. ASCII ( American Standard Code for Information Interchange) – A code that represent English characters as numbers.  Each letter is assigned a number between 0 and 127.

  1. Bandwidth – The number of data that can be transferred at a time.

  1. Boolean – 19th Century mathematician, George Boole, cam up with this for a better and more advanced in search.  This is used so that your search could be limited to a certain topic.  OR, AND, NOR, NOT, and XOR can be used.

  1. Domain Name – A name that identifies one or more IP addresses such as .edu, .gov, .com, or .org.

  1. HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) – A protocol used by the World Wide Web.  It transfers text, graphic images, sound, and multimedia files on the web.

  1. TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol) – It is the basic communication language in the internet.  It is the main protocols and the TCP allows two hosts to establish a connection.

  1. Clip – Artwork design to be published on text or on the Web Pages from artists or non-artists.  It can use audios, videos, or graphics.

  1. Fire Wire – An Apple computer version of a protocol for storing data with High Performance speed.

  1. Playhead – The position of the individual’s clip while doing some editing.  You can control the arrow either with the arrow or the mouse.
