For Summer 2007 - Hello, my name is Dustin Talbert and I am in my fifth semester here at Kennesaw State University. This is my first semester taking an online class and so far I am enjoying the flexibility that it allows me since I have a busy schedule this summer with classes, work, and an on-campus organization called LINK (Leaders IN Kennesaw). I am not necessarily the most intelligent student around but I would argue that I have one of the best work ethics of any student. I hope to use my work ethic to put forward the best effort I can give in this class in order to not only learn the materials but also to be able to apply it to my life further down the road when I have a career. Not to mention I want to earn an A in this class!
Goals and Aspirations: For Summer 2007 For me, this webpage assignment was not easy. Readiing code is not something I have done before but I decided to tackle it the best way I knew how. First I decided to get my feet wet by doing what I could. However, I soon found that I needed help so I met with Dr. Leeds for some guidance and it most definitely helped. I also had to meet with her a second time in order to get some questions straightened out and fortunately she was very patient with me. The best tools that I used to my advantage were the cheat sheets that Dr. Leeds provided so that I knew what to look for when I was looking for font, background color, and everything else. First, I found the title and changed it to my name, then I made the extra tag to make it bold. Next, I found the code for the background color and changed it one that suited me as well as changing the colors to the links. The name for the picture file confused me at first, but I then got the hang of it and changed it to one of the only pictures that I could find of myself alone. I then found every code related to font and changed the sizing of it all and the font type to one I found interesing (hopefully it is not too hard to read). I then changed the links to two things I am passionate about, soccer and baseball. Hopefully some of you take an interest in either of those as well. I then uploaded my resume file, adding a link back to this webpage and continued to write my paragraphs. And now this is the finished product.
