L.O.S.T Consulting, Inc. has provided quality service and leadership for five years through the active involvement of our most experienced and committed professionals. Our company has offices in the state of Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Washington D.C., and New York. We are looking to expand the service team toward the western region of the United States. Issue: Information technology is the use of computers and software to manage information. As technology is evolving at a rapid rate, there is a vast amount of information on the World Wide Web. Individuals and companies alike also are determining whether the information is accurate, which information to share to the public, who can access that information, and what protection measures are needed. We will perform research on how information is managed in terms of security, privacy, accuracy, and access. Using top of the line researching tools, we will explore the variety of options and techniques that companies can manage their information. Initial Findings: Information security can be defined as protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, usage, disclosing, modification, or destruction. By enabling password protect and limit access to information, companies can reduce the chance that the information will be embezzled and used inappropriately. In managing information privacy, consumers as well as corporations should research the website before subscribing to them. Most online sites, if they are legal and legitimate, will have some type of disclosure clause(s). Information accessibility it is the ability of persons, regardless of ability, to easily access information, regardless of form, structure, or presentation. Accessibility goes beyond making information available for people with disabilities. Increasing accessibility may in turn increase use of systems by users without disabilities as well. An overall recommendation for assuring the accuracy of information would be to establish a particular branch of your company to manage data collection itself but also to teach employees about the type of information that they need to keep record of and also focus on. Employees also need to be taught which information needs to be collected on a regular basis and which information can be collected periodically. |
