Overview
of Virtual Teams: Virtual teaming is preformed when
groups of two or more people communicate through technology such as,
web-based conferencing, instant messaging, and telecommunication. Businesses will generally use virtual teams
when employees are geographically spaced out and are not able to meet in
person. Communicating through a computer-based atmosphere is very
beneficial to geographically dispersed teams. The many benefits of virtual
teaming include; less traveling time, less expenses, and increased efficiency
within the company. Thanks to
the ever growing use of technology, society is moving at a faster pace than
ever. Businesses now have new realities to face. Some of these realities
include the need to form alliances with out-of-country organizations, the
need to manage organization-wide projects, and the continuing need for
business travel. With these new responsibilities, virtual teaming is becoming
more and more prevalent every day. In
order to conduct a virtual team, one must first acquire the appropriate
software. There are several programs that can be used for virtual
teaming. The most popular ones are,
Dim Dim, Qwaq, Go To Meeting, Yugma, and Vyew. Exploration
Of Virtual Teams: Nowadays
most businesses will eventually need to incorporate virtual teaming into its
industry. Here at Mano a Mano, we have done extensive research to find what
form of virtual teaming would work best for you and your organization. The
five major forms of virtual teaming are Dim Dim; Go to Meeting, Qwaq, Yugma,
and Vyew. Each of these programs offer different sets of packages. Some
packages may prove to be a good while others could prove to be bad depending
on your companies needs. Much of this information may sound new and
confusing, especially to those who are just starting out in the business

make it easier. Throughout
our studies, we have established that all of these programs offer some type
of free trial or usage with their products. For instance, Dim Dim offers a
“forever free trial” while Go To meeting offers a 30-day trial. If you are
looking for a less costly way to conduct a virtual team, Vyew may be the best
option. However, one should keep in mind that it can only hold 10-15 person
meetings. Larger businesses may want to look into Yugma, which can hold up to
500 person meetings. We believe that Vyew is fitted toward the smaller
businesses, while Yugma is clearly made for the larger organizations.
However, in our preliminary work we have found that Dim Dim could possibly be
the best buy for a small company. It offers a free membership that can hold
up to 20 person meetings and a 25$ dollar monthly package that will increase
its capacity to 50 person meetings. Dim Dim is also user friendly and allows
an unlimited amount of conferences. Our Company About twelve years ago a well
established business man out of Argentina by the name of Luis Cribeiro
decided that he wanted to take on the challenge of creating a new consulting
company. His main goal was to create a company that could help people with
their tough business decisions not just locally but internationally. However,
he realized that this would be too much work to do alone. So he went to the
University of Buenos Aires and found four of the top business students in the
school and asked them to help him create this company. This team of five then
worked together to establish what is now recognized as one of the top
consulting companies in the world. Our company was officially founded
on April 28th, 1987 under the name of Mano a Mano. Since then we have worked
together with the some of the biggest businesses in the world including Coca
Cola, Nike, Stanley Steamer, Aflac insurance, and many more. However, what
makes Mano a Mano different from many other consulting companies is that we
are willing to not just work with the big names; we also want to help the
small business owner who needs some advice on what to do with their business.
No matter how big we make it as a company, we will never forget the
principles that were essential in making us into what we are today. These
principles include being there for people when they need a helping hand, and
assisting those who are trying to make it ahead in the world today. |
