| Welcome to Mrs. LaFontaine's Letter. I hope you find this web page informative. I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I am married, I have three children, and I teach preschool. I am currently attending Kennesaw State University to get a second degree in teaching middle grades. I teach Sunday School to Sixth grade girls, and I serve as Chairperson for our church's Children's Council. As you have probably guessed, I love children of all ages! |
| Facilitator of Learning
As a Facilitator of Learning I used my experience of working
with all ages of students, the knowledge I have gained over the semester
about student diversity, and the experience of raising my own children
to be a positive influence on the students I have been working with at
East Paulding Middle School. I demonstrated acceptance of all
students that I worked with as a group and in one-on-one situations.
An example of this would be stated in the lab I wrote on "At-Risk
Students".

| Collaborative Professional
During the past semester, I feel I have exhibited effective communication skills in my education class and my field experience class. My written assignments in the form of papers and labs would demonstrate this. (My Philosophy of Education Paper). I also have evidence in the form of my Field Experience Evaluation. While out in the field I took the initiative to build a word wall in my collaborative teachers classroom and help in answering students questions. Also, two of the days that I observed my collaborative teacher was out sick. I took the initiative to find another teacher of a different subject to observe on my own. I feel this really enhanced the experience for me. I was always on time, or early, and never left early. I dressed professionally and asked many questions. This is all evidenced in my Field Experience Evaluation. |
