Current church : Grace Fellowship Church of Paulding County (my family and some of our friends and relatives started this church in January of 2002, my Dad is the pastor, and I'm the music minister)
School history : K-2 I went to Norton Park Elementary School. 3rd grade I went to Russell Elementary School. From 4th grade onwards I was home-schooled. I took and passed my GED in 2000.
Current school : Kennesaw State University. Before that, I was at Chattahoochee Technical College. I graduated with 19 A's and a B [an english class with the teacher from Hell], and earned my Associate's Degree in Computer Programming. I'm pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in the same subject.
Awards won : 3 awards given to me by my former piano teacher, Barbara Mould. A small medal, a plaque, and a trophy, each given to me at a piano recital. Also, I was awarded the Outstanding Student of the Year in Mathematics for the 2001 year at the Chattahoochee Tech Paulding Campus. How that occured, I'll never know, because I'm NOT a math whiz at all. In fact, Math is usually my worst subject. I also won the Outstanding Student of the Year in Computer Programming for the 2002 year at the Marietta Campus. And also, when I graduated, I was honored to get the Outstanding Graduate Award for the Computer Programming major. Also, I made the Dean's List at KSU for the first time ever for the Spring semester of 2006.
Current Job : Student Assistant in one of KSU's Computer Labs
Hobbies : Playing video games, tinkering on the computer, designing web pages, playing music, listening to music.
Girlfriend? Yes! Her name is Katie Mae Parker, and she is wonderful! We've been going out since August 2006, and we're deliriously happy with each other.
Instruments played : Mainly guitar (mainly rhythm, but I can fake some lead). Also piano/keyboard, bass guitar, and drums
For how long? Been playing guitar since I was 6, started taking piano lessons at 9 years old. I started messing around with bass guitar a few years back, and drums shortly thereafter. I don't own a bass or a drum set, though, so I'm still an amateur.
Instruments owned : 3 acoustic guitars (a 6-string Ibanez, a 12-string Ibanez, and a 6-string Regal signed by Fastball), 1 electric guitar (Jackson 6-string), and a baby grand piano (a Kingsbury that's over 100 years old, still got a GREAT sound, though).
Songwriting influences : The Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Dan Fogelberg, John Denver, Gin Blossoms, Del Amitri, John Mayer, Barenaked Ladies, Derek Webb, and I'm sure some others have had minor influence, but those are the biggest influences...eclectic group, eh?
Lyrical inspirations : Usually, what inspires me to write is love (both returned and unrequited). However, a few other things like friendship and social pressures have sparked off a song or two.
Lyrics to my songs can be found elsewhere on my site
