Personal Biography: This semester will be the end of a six year journey. I will receive my Bachelor's in Psychology in May and will be leaving the following August to go to The University of New Haven's Graduate Program. My degree will hold special value to me, since I have worked myself all the way through school. If I had the choice I would not change this fact, because it has shown me that hard work really does pay off and that I am capable of anything that I set my mind to. I come from a small family and have lived here all my life, so I am very excited about my journey ahead!Professional Biography: I am hard-working, outgoing and very goal oriented. Normally I take the role of the leader in group settings, but also enjoy sitting back and being a part of a team. I have been told that I never meet a stranger and have the ability to get along with many different type's of people. I plan to leave in August of 2009 to pursue a Master of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology from The University of New Haven. I have been able to excel in a variety of customer service position's throughout college due skills such as: self starting, task and goal oriented, dependable, honest, hardworking, innovative, creative, quick learner, strong communication skills and interpersonal skills. Narrative: My blood pressure rises as I take a sip from my cup of water. Although I leafing through the stack of note cards, I already know what each one says. My palms are a little bit sweaty as I stare around the curtain and look at the packed auditorium. I will be presenting original research to a number of my colleagues. My nerves will dissipate as I take the stage, just as the always do. This feeling is what I live for. Work Breakdown:
In order to publish this page I first watched the instruction videos. From then, I went to Dr. Leed's example page and saved it as "index.html". I then opened up this document using Word Pad. I am pretty familiar with basic HTML language, so I easily found the title of the page and other elements that needed to be altered. I then resaved the document again (reflecting my changes), and downloaded the SSH Secure File Transfer. From there, I moved the index.html document from the left side of the screen (Local Folder), to the right side of the screen (Remote Name).
Now that I had published my index, I was ready to upload my personal picture and resume. After saving my picture as a jpg. file, I inserted the tag src="amy.jpg" into where Dr. Leeds had her image tag. The height was already set by her so it fit into the page perfectly! Make sure you move your image from your local file (the left hand site) into the directory (the right hand side), for publication.
After inserting your two basic html links to other web sites using the href="url" you are ready to provide a working link to your resume (an internal site.) This was the most difficult step for me, but I finally managed to get it done. First you must save your word document as either a .pdf or .xml document. You can do this using the "Save As-->Other Files and Add-On's" in Microsoft Word. After doing so, upload the document into the secure shell. A trick that will save you some time, click on the document's properties to view the file directory location. This file directory location is what you will use as your href code. It specifies exactly where your resume is stored and brings it up once the link is clicked.
